WINTER 2015: ATTENTION PARENTS

This Winter I am offering 6-8 week curricullums for children and teens who are experiencing the effects of divorce, addiction/alcoholism, learning disabilites, low self esteem and loss. I will be happy to do an assessment of your child and recommended interventions, when called for. There are a few articles in my blog that deal with parenting. These appointments are in my new private office/studio, DAILY PRACTICE at 1322 Dodds Avenue.

    Tuesday evenings for Mother/Daughter Pairs

Yin Yang - for Mothers and Daughters - Tuesday evenings this Winter

An art therapy group about healthy relationships for women

In this eight week session teens and moms will learn that healthy relationships are formed by healthy people. To this end we will use a variety of art media and assignments designed to teach young people how to prepare for and attract healthy relationships. The emphasis in this group is on becoming well-balanced and authentic individuals in all types of relationships – with friends, the opposite sex, parents, God and self. Topics will include the individual’s responsibility to recognize and develop their own masculine and feminine sides on their way to being whole, how to avoid addictions and “reputations”, the politics of living in groups and the importance of a daily spiritual practice. This class is not sex education and has no religious agenda. Rather it is a look at the spiritual principles developed by generations of saints, mystics and wise women taught through didactic teaching, hands on art making and processing in a small, safe group of other Mother/daughter pairs. A simple supper and all art materials are included in the price.

1) Introduction to Metaphor: inside/outside boxes
2) Introduction to Carl G. Jung: archetype/individuation/shadow
3) Introduction to Yin and Yang: mobiles and inner balance work
