DREAMTIME DOT PAINTING

February 2, 2019 by 4yourwebsite admin

April 6 – Aboriginal art

Anonymous artist and student work

Indigenous Australians believe that during sleep they leave their physical bodies and travel to the realm they called Dreamtime. They also practice ritualized journeys to Dreamtime through the use of evocative music and repetitive dot paintings. These paintings are still being made by Aboriginal artists/journeyers today. Learn more about journeying, Dreamtime, Aboriginal painting techniques and make a meditative dot painting of your own. We will use acrylic paint so wear old clothes. I will provide smocks. No art experience necessary.
