Art and Archetype

August 17, 2018 by 4yourwebsite admin

an 8 week art and archetype group for personal growth

By becoming aware of the archetypes operating in our lives we can get a glimpse of our purpose here on earth. Our conflicts and struggles, our strengths and weaknesses, our love lives and our fortunes are tied in with the archetypes we invoke when we begin our journey in life. Using the work of Caroline Myss, Carl Jung and mixed media art techniques, adult participants will name, claim and come to understand their own personal archetypes. An eight-week commitment is suggested for this in depth course of study; note there are nine dates scheduled should you need to miss one.

This group is both psychoeducation and artmaking – designed with both the beginning art student and the practiced artist in mind. Each class will include some didactic teaching, an art demonstration and suggestions for hands-on art assignments. Collage, printmaking, s’grafitto, drawing, painting and abstraction techniques are among the art processes we will explore as we connect with some of the energies, characters and story lines at play in our lives. The ideal participant will have some experience in therapy, 12 Steps work or other personal development. Check with Jas to see if you are right for this special opportunity.
