Working With Teens
Art therapy is often a good fit for teens who like art. It may also be a good fit for teens who may not be able to “talk” about it – school, divorce, social anxiety, body image stuff, gender questions or any other growing pains. I use psycho educational art therapy approaches to support teens in becoming who they are in a safe container – in person or on Zoom. My commitment when working with minors is to keep confidential EVERYTHING a teen tells me. This builds trust for safety which is necessary for healing. However if a teen tells me that they are being hurt; or if they say they are planning to hurt themselves or another, I will get a parent involved in seeking the appropriate intervention. I also work with a number of other professionals – psychologists, psychiatrists and therapists to whom I may refer your teen for testing, possible medicine and therapy. I really like working with teens and appreciate the trust you put in me and your teen to find their way through art.

Participants use art methods, materials and assignments to explore transpersonal issues, esoteric and metaphysical topics, spirituality and meaning in a safe and supportive environment.
